Roofs and Gutters
Your gutters are arguably one of the most important parts of your home. If they fail and you happen to live in a rainy area you better get ready for leaks and all sorts of roofing problems. These problems could literally cost you thousands upon thousands of dollars in damage. When you have a leak it is not just what is going to cost you to repair it. If it stays active for a long time it can affect other parts of the house and even ruin carpets and furniture. The best way to avoid these issues is to have your gutters and roofing properly cleaned.
This may seem like a very bad idea overall. How are you going to unclog a gutter when you are applying more pressure to the area? Without a doubt, if you apply too much pressure the gutter is going to literally burst. Some of the common clogging issues that we have around here though are not really debris related all of the time. What we get a lot of is, ice clogging gutters. So in those cases applying hot water with some power behind it is going to work like a charm. Obviously, if there is another issue that we are dealing with we are going to have to find another solution.
There are two main reasons why this is a good idea. From there everyone else can just draw their own conclusions. The reality is that a dirty roof just does not make a house look all that great. Also, a dirty roof can lead to a higher risk of leaks forming or even drains clogging. Therefore, it is not a bad idea to have these areas cleaned out from time to time.
If we are honest about there are certain types of roofs that are going to benefit more from power washing. These are usually going to be tile and shingle roofs. The reason behind this is that there can be a lot of junk that builds up in these roofs. So what we are going to be able to do is apply that hot water at a decent pressure and we are going to be getting all of the gunk out from the natural joints between the tiles. With flat roofs, if there is no proper way to have the water flow from the roof to a gutter we may not be able to have the same results.
When people think of power washers they may have the idea that we just spray water and hope for the best. That is not the case at all. A lot of times with gutters, for example, we are going to have to actually get in there and manually remove a lot of the gunk. We are one of the few companies that are open to getting their hands dirty in that way.
