Patios and Decks
Decks and patios are places that are going to need quite a bit of upkeep. The worst thing that you can do especially with decks is to want to have them restained or repainted every time that you see that they are a bit dirty. The reality is that a paint job can last a longer period of time if the area is cleaned regularly. With that in mind, one of the best things that you can do is have the area power washed. Now, of course, there is a certain concern about the way that water is going to mix with wood. This is something that we are going to be able to handle.
For the most part, we are talking about concrete patios. Really our cleaning services here are going to be very similar to what we are going to be able to do for driveways and other concrete surfaces. The goal is to get all of the gunk that is going to build up between the joint points and lift it out of there. The fact is just moping the floor is not going to be able to give you the type of results that we can provide constantly.
It is a good idea to keep a watchful eye on these areas. In certain times of the year, you are going to be getting a lot more debris build-up. This is usually due to the leaves falling off of trees in the autumn months as is customary. Just going around with a leaf blower is not going to remove all of that gunk that we are talking about. At certain times of the year, once every 2 or three months can be a good time frame. In other cases, we may need to come in once every month or even less than that.
One of the concerns that people have when it comes to their decks is that pouring water on the wood is going to ruin it. This is a valid concern however we know the right procedures to make sure that the water is able to dry up quickly enough. To the point where it is not going to be absorbed by the wood. That is actually one of the main benefits of power washing over pressure washing. In power washing, the hot water is going to dry up a lot quicker. Making it a better option for wooden structures.
While we don’t want to venture out into giving exact dates, because that is going to depend on the age of the wood. Washing your deck is certainly going to be a great way to extend its overall life span. It is also going to reduce the need for you to continue just adding layers upon layers of stain to the area. It is a win-win all the way.
